Writing for brands
Shortform, longform, print, social, speeches, videos, comics – I’ve written them all and refined my approach over the years.
In addition to ensuring each piece of writing tells the story you need, I will also give it a voice: that of your brand, your CEO, my own if you really want it – or maybe a secret fourth thing.
Writing for media
I’ve been a voicey writer since day one of my Critic internship, when the editor told me “stop trying to be funny”.
I’ve written op-eds and listicles amongst big features and straight down-the-line reporting. I can talk to serious folks and scrutinise data like a proper reporter, but I’ll write about it with the reader in mind, not stakeholders.
Editing
My time in the content mines has given me x-ray vision for the most minute of problems, and the creative nous to bring broken work back to life.
In addition to basic (and complicated) grammar edits I can edit for structure and tone, create brand voice guidelines so you can pick up my baseline work and run with it, and kill any darlings you don’t have the heart to murder yourself.
I’ll also sprinkle in as many low-brow skibidi rizz jokes or philosophy bro LinkedIn-isms as you’d like.
Website management
I’ve managed website development – choosing what to change and what to optimise for, plus the why and how behind both. I know how to communicate with designers and devs to ensure the final result hits every mark it needs to.
SEO and research
My years as a journalist prepped me for speedy but hearty fact-checking. I’m always keen to make a quick call to get answers, and enjoy a lengthy deep-dive into uncharted waters of knowledge.
In terms of SEO, I trained specifically so I would be able back up my assertion that SEO optimisation never needs to come at the cost of quality. I can research ways to get customers to your page and keep them there.
Video production
I’ve produced, written, and even starred in video content across both web and television.
My ability to identify and capture narratives makes me an excellent interviewer and director for case studies, biographies or fun explainers; just point me at your subject and I’ll get a story out of them.

There are a thousand ways to tell a story. Let me whittle them down for you. With a breadth of multimedia experience and a honed ability to pick up your central truth, I can develop a plan to birth your story into the world; and then I’ll deliver it.
My eye for detail within the big picture ensures output hits exactly the right message with exactly the right people. Not a pixel out of place.
PR guidance
Again, I’m an ex-journo. I know what works and what doesn’t. What works is:
1. Finding an actual story (no, launching a new product is not a story)
2. Finding who wants to hear it – and where they are
I’ve led PR work that successfully converts key ICPs by niching down on where you put your story, and then finding an angle that resonates organically.
